SPECIALIZED SPANISH PROGRAM

This six lesson per day program is designed for students with specialized Spanish needs. Business people, nurses, doctors, flight attendants, law enforcement personnel, etc. are candidates for this program. It combines the standard program, which covers Spanish for everyday use, with two additional private lessons daily, focusing on the students’ individual fields.

COSTS INCLUDING HOMESTAY: Effective January 1, 2012. Fees are in U.S. dollars.

4 WEEK SPECIALIZED SPANISH (6 LESSONS DAILY): $2140

3 WEEK SPECIALIZED SPANISH (6 LESSONS DAILY): $1720

2 WEEK SPECIALIZED SPANISH (6 LESSONS DAILY): $1240

1 WEEK SPECIALIZED SPANISH (6 LESSONS DAILY): $630

This program is not offered in June or July.

EACH ADDITIONALWEEK OF SPECIALIZED SPANISH
(6 LESSONS DAILY): $530

These are the costs per additional week after any of the 1, 2, 3 or 4 week programs listed above. For example, a student coming for 8 weeks will be charged for the last 4 weeks at the additional week rate.

Included in cost:

Six 50 minute lessons (four group and two private) daily (Mon.-Fri.), textbooks and handouts. Room and partial board—breakfast and dinner—and laundry service in the home of a carefully selected local family are included and will be arranged unless otherwise specified. If the student chooses not to participate in the homestay, he/she should deduct $150 per week. Free daily Latin dance classes (Mon.- Thur.), free Internet access in our Internet room and complimentary Costa Rican coffee throughout the day are available.

Starting dates for 2012:

January 2, February 6, March 5, April 9, May 7, August 6, September 3, October 1, October 29, November 26. Students who are not able to start on these dates--and who are not beginners--may join the institute only the second or third Monday after the indicated starting dates. The institute will be closed Dec. 22, 2012-Jan. 6, 2013. Classes are set up on a weekly basis, Monday through Friday. Students starting later than Monday will be missing classes that cannot be made up.

Schedules:

Depending on the total number of participants, students are scheduled to attend classes from 8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or from 10:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Students are required to attend classes at the times indicated by the Institute.

Holidays:

The Institute observes a number of holidays during the year and will be closed on those days. No refunds are made for days missed due to this reason. Excursions are not affected and always take place. Holidays are: January 1, Holy Thursday and Good Friday, April 11, May 1, July 25, August 15, September 15, October 12 and December 25.
